Sound of silence (Poem)

Image
I can hear the sound the sound I was born with the sound I carry in my heart the sound of past the sound of love it is there, connected. What was so close is now far. An unfathomable deep gorge of silence in between. Listen into the deep you can hear the IT the sound of silence it is the same vibration reminding of existence reminding of joys reminding of blessings. reminding of the life ahead life which must be lived life which must be experienced life which must be traveled life which must be shared. Do not reminisce of what you can not hear of what you can not see of what you can not feel it is there, it is eternal. I do not feel stranded in the deep ravine I do not feel the need to hear the sound It is in me. I am part of the same cosmic vibration same journey in this infinity of unknown . ------------------------------------   08.21.16 (One year after)

The Lonely Chair (Poem)

I am the lonely chair in the center of veranda heavy as a bull arms wide like elephant trunk comfortable like mother's lap welcoming like the blue sky. I am that chair. I am that lonely chair waiting for someone waiting for the one who makes me feel like a kings chair taps my handle like a tabla player hums sitting like a farmer waiting for rains to arrive. I am waiting for him I am waiting for the one. Where is that tall man with cotton white clothes arms strong like a bull chest wide as the mountain sitting hours with me humming, tapping waiting for someone just like I am waiting for him. The joy he gets when he sees the child fiddling his legs unable to sit still. It feels like a mountain waiting for the clouds to meet a beautiful sight indeed a beautiful sight indeed!  He does not want to let go puts the child in my wide arm for both him and I to enjoy. Oh! the times we spent the laughter, the silence and everything in between. Y...

Skydiving journey

Image
I have been thinking to do a skydive for few years now but never took the plunge. My daughter gave a tandem skydive as a birthday gift and now I had no excuse. It made even more exciting is she will also do the skydive for the first time. Great birthday gift for a 50+ years young! I am sharing my experience of the dive. You can read about tandem skydive here . We went to the Lincoln, near Sacramento  - it was hot almost 100 degrees around noon. After waiting for few hours and signing a 6-8 pages waiver document, we were ready. My wife was cool with the process .. which made this a exciting process (Thanks!).  When the time came, we were suited with the harness belts and instructions were given how to get out of the plane. The plane was a single engine propeller plane and like a card board box. We had to sit facing back in the floor in a tight way; us in the front with legs stretching and the instructors on the back tethered to us. The plane ride was scary a bit .. noisy sing...
