Opening Doors

During our life, we run into many challenges and difficulties but some of thoughts linger on making it hard to move forward. Letting it go is a hard thing.   Not all doors are same, some are easy and some are life impacting and it takes years or decades to get over it. I myself have struggled on many things ("doors")  and it has taken many years to get over it ("close it").  When I think of it now, I struggled for years on a bad stock options AMT issue, but finally closed it with Tikli's help .. I should have closed it earlier as it was not that important. Closing some doors are important because it allows to open new ones, which can lead to new understanding and allows us to move forward.

A poem from Carl Sandburg (1878–1967).
An open door says, “Come in.”
A shut door says, “Who are you?”
Shadows and ghosts go through shut doors.
If a door is shut and you want it shut,
     why open it?
If a door is open and you want it open,
     why shut it?
Doors forget but only doors know what it is
     doors forget.

"Doors forget but only doors know what it is doors forget" -- This is quite interesting. The wind or sun light does not remember which doors or windows it passes by ... It is the "I", the person remembers which doors were closed and opened during our life. Sometimes to close a door, you have to "open" it to others. It helps to heal and move forward. It can be a family member or a friend or a srink (I guess)  but it helps to open to new ideas.
