Walking on the same street (Poem)

Walking on the same street

---------------

I walked alone on the same street yesterday
which we used to walk every Tuesday,
crossing the busy street
until the roads meet
afternoon sun shinning bright
I walked alone between the shades
with fall leaves sprinkled along the way.

Rows of houses with gardens in-front
beautiful flowers welcomed all
But I seem to be lost
unfazed by the glorious flowers
as there was no one to share.
I walked alone on the same street
which we used to do every week.

What we talked on those walks
I do not remember a tidbit of that
May be it was the long silences
broken by few sentences
or the sudden stop to smell the flowers.
All that I remember is that
the flowers spoke
the red and yellow fall leaves crinkled
when we walked on the same street
on Tuesday of each week.
